Mobility

One-click to move everything

Proper mobility is called ultra-fast IoT.

The automobile becomes autonomous, connected, sustainable and shared. Mobility changes, the driver does not drive, and the travel time is open to be dedicated to activities unrelated to the vehicle… And spare parts can be 3D printed in the workshops themselves.

  • The traditional car dealership model is ageing rapidly, and a new model that follows the “Apple Store” or “Showroom” concept is being implemented.
  • The car is moving from being a property to being a service. Some companies (manufacturers and extensive dealer networks) already offer cars on a “subscription” rather than a purchase model.
  • The intelligence applied to vehicles allows much more direct contact between the manufacturer and the user so that the dealer’s figure loses weight and, to maintain its competitiveness, bets on the development of Apps and services that combine Information, Insurance and Entertainment.
  • The Internet of Things (IoT) creates a new dimension in vehicle user behaviour. The technology allows vehicles to automate routine functions such as servicing and maintenance by coordinating directly with workshops and dealers without human intervention.
  • Technology giants such as Apple, Google, Microsoft, Salesforce or Amazon are betting on the car conceived as a casing where the important thing is the applications installed in it. The car is the new smartphone.

… and three good questions.

Why do people need to move if things can move autonomously, quickly and efficiently?

Will near-zero latency networks be the natural boost of new business in mobility?

What are the areas of opportunity for new business models emerging in this new paradigm?
